Charity Information
We at Upstate Tax feel it's essential for us to support the neighborhoods and communities in which we live and work.
Upstate Tax supports a number of charities including educational and faith based organizations throughout the Upstate of
South Carolina and Northeast Georgia.
We take the responsibility of our communities very seriously but cannot support every request for donations that we
receive. There are two ways we financially support organizations in our community:
If you are a registered charity and would like to request support for your organization, please read our
charity policy and if you feel your request meets our requirements, please fill out our
request form. We will review your
request as soon as we can.
Please Note: We will not review any request for donations made by phone or in person.
Charity Policy
We at Upstate Tax feel it's essential for us to support the neighborhoods and communities in which we live and work.
To that end we are constantly reviewing requests for charitable donations which can be, at times, overwhelming.
To insure that we can make the most of our charitable donations, we offer the below guidelines for those who are
seeking donations from Upstate Tax.
We are more likely to support donations that are:
- Directly related Upstate Tax clients
- Within the communities in which we do business
- Linked to faith based organizations
- Linked to education and literacy
- Aimed at supporting the health and welfare of young people
We are unlikely to support requests that are:
- Not related to Upstate Tax clients
- Fundraising for individuals
- National Charities
- Short Notice
- From a non-registered charity
- Political Organizations
- Organizations that Discriminate
Lend-A-Hand
We at Upstate Tax feel it's essential for us to support the neighborhoods and communities in which we live and work.
Upstate Tax supports a number of charities including educational and faith based organizations throughout the Upstate of
South Carolina and Northeast Georgia.
Our Lend-A-Hand program enables approved organizations or groups to earn rewards when their members and supporters
use Upstate Tax services. This program is very similar to ones offered by larger companies such as General Mills Box Tops
for Education. Each participating organization will receive an unique code to be provided at the time Upstate Tax
provides tax preparation services. After tax season ends we will make a donation based on your organizations participation.
The only responsibility your organization bears is advertisement. We may be able to assist with flyers, however use your
organizations normal communication methods to let members and supporters know of participation in the program. In order to
exercise Lend-A-Hand your organizations unique code must be presented at the time of tax preparation.
Please Note: We will not review any request for donations made by phone or in person.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How much of a donation will you make?
A: The donation amount may vary. However two things are guaranteed:
- In many instances we donate 500% to 2000% times more per redemption than competing programs.
- As your organizations redemptions increase, so does the donation per redemption.
Q: Is there a donation limit?
A: No. If your organization keeps referring clients to our office, we will keep donating.
Q: What if I don't know my organizations unique code when I come in? Can you look it up?
A: No. Due to time constraints and the number of participants, clients must provide the code at the time of tax
preparation.
Q: Can Lend-A-Hand be combined or exercised with other promotions?
A: No. Only one Lend-A-Hand or coupon\promotion can be exercised. Which one to use is up to you.
Q: A member\supporter brought in the coupon, but we never received the donation.
A: Verify the member did exercise the Lend-A-Hand coupon. Very often clients choose another coupon or promotion over
Lend-A-Hand.
